The Showgirl
A$1250.00
Dimensions 90cm (H) x 90 (L) x 26cm (D) 9kg (Weight)
This perched beauty is an enchanting, extravagant & theatrical. She is the epitome of grace settled majestically on her antique newel post. I created this piece after I fell in love with the antique timber newel that was recovered from the historical Tempe House in Wolli Creek, NSW. My love for nature and in particularly birds captured my imagination and the idea of creating a perched pelican on top of the timber grew as did the idea of the ultimate Showgirl created from recycled antique newel base, an old rusted machete for the beak, jewellery, an old brake rotor for the base, old candelabra, rusted metal leaves, reused feathers and an old teapot handle.

Little Boho Honeyeater
SOLD
This piece is “Fiona’s Honeyeater”
Fiona contacted me earlier in the year after seeing my work at Steven Street Gallery in Yandina. She wanted me to create a piece for the entryway next to her front door of her home, but was unsure of what she wanted. We discussed space, size & the fact she wanted to use some of her own jewellery.
Once she was ready she dropped off her jewellery and had decided on a parrot or honeyeater on driftwood as these birds are regulars in her yard. As soon as I opened the jewellery bag, I instantly knew it had to be a Boho Honeyeater & I absolutely loved using the crystals she gave me in the piece as I have never used them before.
He left for his new home today with one very happy owner.
Thank you so much for asking me to create this very special piece for you Fiona
