Sculpture On The Edge Sunshine Coast Flaxton Gardens 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021 Finalist Entries

Magnificent Peacock Dimensions 90cm (h) x 80cm (w) x 40cm (d) This is my first free standing sculpture all material I use is recycled & repurposed. With this piece I have tried to capture the elegance, beauty & gracefulness of these beautiful birds. Perched upon an old piece of driftwood that is the shape of a tree trunk she watches over her home with poise and a glamour. The peacock is symbolic of re-growth & rejuvenation, respect, honour& integrity... a reminder to take pride in yourself, be strong & self-confident, to embrace who you truly are.

Two Parrots - A Love Story Dimensions 50cm (h) x 60cm (w) x 40cm (d) This is my second free standing sculpture all material I use is recycled & repurposed. There is something about parrots that inspire your thoughts, brighten your day & remind us to be playful. With this piece it reminds me of my childhood Christmases at my grandparents home in Saratoga, NSW The rainbow lorikeets would cover the verandah everyday and play on the handrail for hours. The love story is symbolic of my grandparents love for each other, pure, joyful & unconditional.

Goanna - Basking in the Sun Seeing these beautiful reptiles basking in the sun is a beautiful sight, they look so, serene & gentle. They remind me that in life we need to find time to stop, breath & be one with nature. To find the Joy, Kindness, Inspiration, Respect, Energy, Confidence, Serenity, Love & Passion that being still and all the self-healing that nature can bring.
